The most important way to know ourselves is through our pain. Especially the deeper, chronic pain. That is because it is always there, always reminding us of its presence. It might be emotional, mental, physical, social, financial or spiritual. It might be ignored, but when least expected, it resurfaces and asserts its presence. The best way to grow from your pain is to ask yourself why is it there? The answer may not come easily. Maybe slowly, over time, in bits and pieces. Maybe it can take a lifetime to understand the full message of your pain. But your pain is the point from which you can begin to embrace a new path to become unstuck. Left to itself, the pain will linger and dig in deeper.
Pain can be a messenger: To ask you, why are you the way you are, right now? And if it is serving you?
